Services
Nine Service Lines, One Portal.
Everything a residential or commercial project needs, from ground investigation through to certification and construction-stage inspections. Engage the full sequence or a single item. Whichever you choose, you book it, track it and download it from your own portal.
Site & Drainage Plans
Site and drainage (S&D) plans, prepared for planning lodgement, coordinating the proposed footprint with site levels, stormwater discharge and boundary setbacks.
Drawn to what your council actually assesses against, so the application isn't held up for information that should have been on the plan.
Footing & Slab Design
Footing and slab systems designed to the site classification and the structure they carry. Much of metropolitan Adelaide sits on reactive clay, where seasonal ground movement drives the design as much as the building load does.
Waffle and stiffened rafts, strip footings, piered systems and split-level solutions for sloping blocks. Documented so a concreter can set out from the drawing without ringing to ask what was meant.
Beam & Steel Member Design
Steel and timber beam design for new builds, extensions, and renovation works. Member sizing, bearing and connection details, and the load path down to something capable of carrying a concentrated load.
Every structure type, not just houses. The same design work covers residential, commercial, industrial and light-industrial framing: portal frames and rafters over open spans, transfer beams picking up a wall that stops short, lintels over new openings in masonry, and the columns and pad footings that take the load once a wall comes out. Composite and built-up sections where a single member will not do it, and steel-to-timber connections detailed rather than left to the fabricator.
We specify the propping too. It's the part most commonly missing when a beam schedule arrives on site, and the part where people get hurt.
Steel Frame & Light-Weight Framing Certification
Independent certification of steel framing that has already been designed, usually by a steel designer, a frame manufacturer or the fabricator's own engineer. The drawings arrive with us, we check them, and we certify them for building consent.
Light-weight steel framing is a core part of this. Cold-formed and light-gauge wall frames, floor joists, trusses and roof battens, the kind produced by a roll-former and delivered to site as a kit. These are designed to AS/NZS 4600 and the NASH Standard (the national code for cold-formed steel framing) rather than to the hot-rolled rules, they behave differently, and the certification has to be done against the right standard. We check the member schedules, the bracing and hold-down layout, the connection capacities and the tie-down chain from sheeting through to footing, against the wind classification the site actually attracts.
Residential, commercial and industrial projects, hot-rolled and light-weight alike. The certificate carries our name, so the check is a real one. If the incoming design does not work on this site, you are told what has to change rather than handed a signature.
Timber Framing Design
Framing layouts and member sizing where the geometry falls outside standard span tables. Raked ceilings, long spans, cantilevered decks and irregular roof forms.
Includes bracing and tie-down, which is where framing designs most often come unstuck at inspection.
Site Investigation
Soil testing and survey, carried out by specialist contractors we brief and coordinate. Investigation and classification under AS 2870, and the levels, boundaries and existing structures everything downstream measures from. The classification determines the footing system, so it sits upstream of design rather than beside it.
We have the boreholes positioned against the proposed footprint rather than wherever the rig can most easily park. On a cut-and-fill block that distinction decides whether the classification describes the ground your house will actually sit on.
Retaining Wall Design
Sleeper, blockwork and reinforced concrete walls designed to AS 4678, including surcharge from driveways, structures and pools, drainage behind the wall, embedment and global stability.
Drainage is treated as a structural element rather than a finishing detail, because saturated backfill is the load that takes most walls out.
Swimming Pool Structural Design
Structural design for pool shells and surrounds, including pools sited near retaining walls, on fill, or close to existing footings. The three situations that most often need engineering attention.
Where a pool sits above or beside a retaining wall, the two get designed together rather than separately.
Structural Inspections
Trench, steel and general structural inspections during construction. Reinforcement and setout checked before the pour, while it can still be corrected.
Inspections can be booked by the builder or the concreter, and the report is issued to whoever books it, so the person who paid for it is the person who receives it.
Full Package
Take the whole sequence and 10% comes off.
Where we carry out the site and drainage plan, footing design and structural design for the same address, 10% comes off the total of that work. You do not have to book it all at once: bring us the third at any stage of the project and the discount is applied then, across everything at that address.
One address, one client. The discount holds while all of the work stays with us; if part of it is cancelled or moved to another consultant, the discount no longer applies. At least one of the three has to be booked through your client portal. Surveys, soil tests and timber truss design do not count toward it. Full terms are set out in the fee offer we send you.
Not Sure Which of These You Need?
